Easy Tanghulu
Dip anything you'd like. All fruit is fair game as long as it's patted super dry after washing
Steps
- 1
Fill a large dish or baking sheet with cold water, set aside
- 2
In a small pot, pour 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water. DO NOT STIR!!!!!
- 3
Bring everything to a boil on high. Again, DO NOT STIR. boil everything until the sugar reaches around 260°F
******see end for tip if you don't have a candy thermometer
- 4
Once the sugar has come to temp, turn off the heat, dip the entire bottom of the pot into the cold water that you set aside in a baking sheet. This prevents the sugar from getting any hotter
- 5
Start dipping and twirling your fruit in the sugar, let excess drip off. Place on parchment paper. It's ready to eat almost immediately
- 6
TIP: If you don't have a candy thermometer (I don't lol) dip a skewer into the hot sugar mixture and dip into freezing cold water. If it turns to hard candy rigjt away, it's ready!- continue to step 4
