Ingredients

20–25 minutes
2 Personen
  1. For the tofu:
  2. 200 gfirm tofu
  3. 1tbsp soy sauce
  4. 1tsp butter
  5. 1/4tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  6. For the sauce:
  7. 1–2 garlic cloves
  8. 1tsp olive oil
  9. 2tbsp tomato paste
  10. 200 mlcrushed tomatoes
  11. 2tbsp plant-based cream (soy or oat)
  12. 1/2tsp dried basil
  13. 1/2tsp oregano
  14. Salt and pepper to taste
  15. 1tsp sugar (if tomatoes are too sour)
  16. Additionally:
  17. 200 gGnocchi (fresh or store-bought)

Steps

20–25 minutes
  1. 1

    Prepare the tofu: Cut into cubes and pat dry. Pan-fry until golden on all sides. Add soy sauce and smoked paprika at the end. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the sauce: In a pan, sauté garlic in olive oil. Add tomato paste, cook briefly, then add crushed tomatoes. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add flavor: Stir in herbs, salt, pepper, and a touch of sugar.

  4. 4

    Finish the sauce: Add the plant-based cream, stir well, and turn off the heat.

  5. 5

    Combine: Return the tofu to the pan, mix with the sauce.

  6. 6

    Serve: Cook gnocchi according to the package, then plate with the tofu and sauce. Garnish with basil or vegan parmesan if desired.
