Ingredients

  • 60 gWheat flour
  • 60 gBajra (pearl millet) flour
  • 30 gfinely chopped Fresh fenugreek leaves (methi)
  • 1 tspSesame seeds
  • 1/2 tspCumin seeds
  • 1/2 tspSalt
  • 1/4 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1 pinchAsafoetida (hing)
  • 2 tspOil (for dough)
  • 2 tspGhee (for serving)
  • as needed (approx. 50 ml)Water

Steps

25 minutes

    In a bowl, mix wheat flour, bajra flour, methi, sesame, cumin, salt, turmeric, and hing.

    Add oil and mix well with your fingers until crumbly.

    Gradually add water and knead into a firm, smooth dough.

    Divide dough into equal size balls. Roll each into a thick disc (about 10cm diameter).

    Heat a tawa. Cook each bhakhri on medium heat, pressing gently, until golden on both sides.

    Brush with ghee and serve hot.

Tips

For a crispier bhakhri, cook on low heat for a longer time, ensuring it is well-cooked inside.
