Cooking Instructions
- 1
Method 1: Add the skim milk powder ot the yogurt as well as the sugar. Leave to drain in the refrigerator and it's done.
- 2
Method 2: Drain the plain yogurt overnight in the refrigerator.
- 3
When the yogurt has decreased to half its original volume, take it out, and mix in enough skim milk powder so that the cream has a subtle sweetness and is no longer sour.
- 4
Optionally, add some finely chopped cheese.
- 5
Add sweetener to taste. If you add sugar to yogurt after it's been drained it will become more watery, so I think it's best to just sprinkle it on.
- 6
Serve with cornbread.
- 7
Even if you use 100% soy milk yogurt, if it's made with sweetened soy milk it won't taste bean-like, at all but actually quite delicious.

Low-Cal Rich Cheesecake Low-Cal Rich Cheesecake
I love rich cheesecakes, but heavy cream has so many calories. So instead of heavy cream, I used yogurt and it was a huge success. I was able to bake a smooth, moist, soft cheesecake. If you use jam that's not so sweet, increase the sugar by 10 g.There's only a little bit of flour, but sifting it will prevent lumps.By replacing 150 ml of heavy cream with 150 ml of yogurt, you'll reduce the calorie count by 500 kcal. Homemade Mascarpone Homemade Mascarpone
In Japan, mascarpone is quite expensive to get in hold of.Well, mix some natural yogurt and heavy cream and drain. The result will taste very similar to mascarpone. Great for cooking or in desserts.Special Thanks goes to Satoyoko.Make sure to use heavy cream that's not low in fat, and it will turn out quite similar to mascarpone cheese. Drain over 8 hours, and use it up fast. Recipe by Brandy cookpad.japan -
Whipped Yogurt Cream - Serve with Fruit! Whipped Yogurt Cream - Serve with Fruit!
My child doesn't like regular whipped cream, but she likes this. I've been creating recipes with different ratios based on my favorite chef's recipe. If you use less heavy cream relative to the strained yogurt, you can really taste the yogurt. If it's the other way around, the yogurt flavor will be more subtle. Recipe by Soraten mama. cookpad.japan -
To Serve At Dinnertime: Okara Scones With Cheese To Serve At Dinnertime: Okara Scones With Cheese
I adapted my plain sconesthrough several experiments, to come up with scones that could be eaten as-is. Since the cheese adds fat and calories, I adjusted the amount of butter used. The consistency of the dough will vary depending on how moist the okara is. Start by adding a little soy milk, and add more if needed. Recipe by tearstar cookpad.japan -

#GoldenApron23I enjoy yogurt based smoothies for both dessert like consistency as well as the health aspect with the protein in the yogurt, as it provides a clean energy boost. This recipe uses frozen peaches; if you use fresh peaches you may want to add a couple of ice cubes to attain a frostier consistency. Christina T -
