I like to make this on wintery cold weekend mornings. My husband adores it and I think its perfectly sweet without syrup. You can make it the night before and let it sit in the fridge(prior to baking) but I often assemble the morning I'm baking it and it always turns out perfect.

I like to make this on wintery cold weekend mornings. My husband adores it and I think its perfectly sweet without syrup. You can make it the night before and let it sit in the fridge(prior to baking) but I often assemble the morning I'm baking it and it always turns out perfect.

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 loafwhite bread, broken into pieces
  2. 4eggs
  3. 1 cupegg nog
  4. 1/4 cupsugar
  5. 1 tspground cinnamon
  6. 1 tspvanilla extract, pure
  7. 1/2 tspground nutmeg
  8. 3 tbspdark (or light) brown sugar
  9. 1powdered sugar(optional)

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat oven to 350. Place bread pieces in a sprayed/greased 8x8 baking pan.

    Mix remaining ingredients except brown sugar and whisk well. Pour over bread in dish and incorporate well making sure all bread pieces are coated. Sprinkle with brown sugar on top.

    Bake for 45 minutes or until a cake tester inserted comes out clean. Cut into squares and enjoy!! Powdered sugar can be dusted on each serving if you want it sweeter....;)
