Ingredients

  • 2/3 cupsbutter
  • 2 cupssugar
  • 3eggs separated
  • 1 cupsmolasses
  • 1/3 teaspoonssalt
  • 1 cupsbuttermilk
  • 1/2 teaspoonscinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoonsnutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoonsbaking soda
  • 3 cupssifted flour
  • 2 teaspoonsbaking powder

Steps

  1. 1

    Cream butter

    Beat in sugar

  3. 3

    Add egg yolks and molasses

  4. 4

    Sift dry ingredients

  5. 5

    Add alternately with milk

  6. 6

    Add beaten egg whites

  7. 7

    Pour into muffin tins

  8. 8

    Bake @ 425 for 20 minutes
