Ingredients

  1. 2 cupGranulated sugar
  2. 1/2 cupMargarine (don't use butter)
  3. 1/2 cupMilk
  4. 1/3 cupUnsweetened cocoa
  5. 3 cupQuick oatmeal
  6. 1/4 tspSalt
  7. 2 tspVanilla
  8. 1/2 cupChopped nuts (optional)
  9. 1/2 cupCoconut
  10. 2/3 cupPeanut butter

Cooking Instructions

    Combine in a large bowl: oatmeal, salt, nuts, coconut, peanut butter, and vanilla.

    Add to saucepan: sugar, margarine, milk and cocoa.

    Heat over medium heat to a rolling boi, stirring often.

    Boil for 1 minute.

  5. 5

    Add chocolate mixture to oatmeal mixture. Stir well.

    Drop by spoonful onto wax paper.

  7. 7

    Cool.

  8. 8

    If butter is used the cookies get dry and crumbly. Margarine keeps the cookies soft and gooey.
