It may not looks so tempting..But this reminds me of my mother ,when after 3 / 4 days rich diet she used to give us this simple dish..A dish for any age group.

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 200 gmRaw papaya
  2. 2potatoes
  3. 2 tspginger paste
  4. 2/3green chillies
  5. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  6. 1/2 tea spoonred chilli powder
  7. 1bayleaf
  8. 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  9. To tasteSalt
  10. 1/2 teaspoonSugar(optional)
  11. 1 teaspoonGhee or clarified butter
  12. 2 tbscoconut cut into small pieces
  13. 1 tspgaram masala
  14. 5 teaspoonoil

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Cut the papaya and potatoes into square shape..

  2. 2

    Heat oil in a kadhai..

  3. 3

    Add bay leaf and cumin seeds.Add green chilli.

  4. 4

    Add coconut pieces.stir it

  5. 5

    Add raw papaya and potatoes into the kadhai.stir it for 3 / 4 minutes in low flame.

  6. 6

    Add turmeric and chilli powder.Add salt.Add ginger paste.Mix it well.

  7. 7

    Stir it for another few seconds.

  8. 8

    Cover it and cook it in low flame till the papaya and potatoes become tender.Add sugar(optional)

  9. 9

    Add 1/2 cup or less than half cup water.Cook it on medium flame for 3 / 4 minutes.

  10. 10

    Add ghee and garam masala.

  11. 11

    Serve hot with roti or rice.
