Slice cucumbers down the middle and scoop out seeds (if any). Then slice crosswise into thin slices.

Mix sauce ingredients together and pour onto cucumbers in a container or tuperware that will allow it to marinate.

Marinate in refrigerator for at least an hour or overnight. When ready to serve, spoon out cucumbers and leave the juice in the bowl.

This is a refreshing side dish that pairs well with a heartier japanese entre.
