Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preheat Oven to 350 degrees.
- 2
Cut chicken breasts in half and then pound each breast until it is roughly 1/4" thick. (We take a 1 gallon zip lock bag tearing it at the seams and pound the chicken breast in between the plastic.)
- 3
Place the prosciutto over the pounded out chicken breast
- 4
Place the swiss on top of the prosciutto (We cuts outs in half to go the length of the chicken.)
- 5
Roll up the chick (to help keep secure we use toothpicks)
- 6
Make an egg wash station. 1 dish with the flour and salt and pepper mixed. 1 dish with water and egg mixed together. 1 dish with bread crumbs.
- 7
Take each rolled chicken breast through the egg wash station.
- 8
Put on pan and place in a oven for 30-35 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink.
- 9
Place on table. (If you used toothpicks room them. You mouth hurts if you bite one, I promise)

Cordon Bleu Cordon Bleu
Chicken Cordon Bleu is breaded and then fried. We want to skip the frying and bake ours instead. It takes what is otherwise a tedious recipe and simplifies it a bit. Or at least lets you skip the giant pot of oil and the inevitable cleanup. Once the chicken is layered with cheese and ham and then rolled, it's one big piece of chicken, The chicken will bake into a beautiful, golden, and crispy piece of meat that's perfectly swirled on the inside. Chicken Cordon Bleu Chicken Cordon Bleu
My mom always considered this a ”fancy” dish. I used to help her make it when I was a girl. We would struggle mightily to keep the chicken rolls secure with toothpicks. It wasn’t until recently that I learned the trick that restaurants use: wrapping the chicken rolls tightly in plastic wrap and then chilling them for a while will make them keep their shape without toothpicks!I prefer to bake this dish, but frying or deep frying is an option if you prefer. This recipe is modified from The Food Network#GlobalApron Week 1 Chicken Breast#Dinner #Party #Meat Chris Gan -

Chicken Cordon Bleu Chicken Cordon Bleu
This is made with Serrano ham and Manchego cheese rather than the usual Swiss cheese. Turned out juicy and flavorful. Feel free to tweek the seasonings to your preference.#GoldenApron23 Maggie Conlon
