Preheat your oven at 180 degrees. grease your baking tin and throw in some little flour...sift your flour and baking powder and set aside

In a separate bowl cream your butter and sugar together until fluffy.

Add in the egg and continue mixing until thoroughly mixed

Add in the vanilla essence and mix well.

Now to the mixture add your flour. folding and alternating with milk until fine and perfect consistency

Divide the batter into two bowls and in one add a pinch or two of food colour of your choice and mix well

Pour the first mixture alternating with the coloured one then put in the oven...let it cook until when a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean...let it cool for 7-10mins then place on a cooling rack and enjoy as it is or decorate as you like
