Ingredients

8 servings
  • 2 quartswater
  • 2cans/bottles of beer
  • 1 tablespoonsalt
  • 1/4 cuplemon juice
  • 1/4 cupbutter
  • 1/4 cupOld Bay seasoning
  • 5 stalkscelery (chopped)
  • 2 lbssmall potatoes (quartered)
  • 2 lbssmoked sausage (cut into 1 inch pieces)
  • 5 earscorn (halved)
  • 1 lbclams
  • 2 lbsshrimp
  • 6 clovesgarlic (or equal minced)
  • 8 ozmushrooms (sliced)
  • 3each medium Vidalia onion (halved and sliced)
  • 2 tablespoonCayenne pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoonred pepper

Steps

  1. 1

    Bring all liquid and spices to boil in a large pot. Remember, a lot of food is going in here.

  2. 2

    Add sausage, potatoes, and onions. Boil for 10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add corn, mushrooms, and celery. Boil for 10 more minutes.

  4. 4

    Add the seafood and butter. Boil for 3 to 5 minutes. Clams will open, shrimp turns pink when done.

  5. 5

    Either remove all from the broth and serve with a squeeze of lemon or serve in a large bowl with the broth (my preference). I think of the broth as one of my favorite beverages. Enjoy!
