Matar paneer is a very simple yet delicious curry made from “matar” (Hindi for “peas”) and paneer (fresh cheese). This recipe is a simplified version of the original Indian Matar Paneer, but it is still a powerhouse of flavor and richness. If paneer is not available in your region, you can easily make your own with just two simple ingredients: whole milk and lemon. There is a recipe on my page you can easily follow.NOTES:* Paneer should look like the picture, not not over brown or they will harden. It’s a okay if not all sides get brown.#CA2025 Veggie K -
Mishti Chire Bhaja (Sweet Fried Beaten Rice) Mishti Chire Bhaja (Sweet Fried Beaten Rice)
#5ing - Chire Bhaja (Fried Beaten Rice / Poha) in general is a very popular Bengali snack. They can either be savoury or sweet. This is the latter version. I have very fond memories regarding this particular recipe. As a child this snack was a regular feature in my house. My late mom would dish out this in a ziffy, especially as an evening snack whenever I used to have hunger pangs. So preparing this after ages.It is very simple and a yummy snack. Just mix the fried beaten rice with some fresh grated coconut, mixed chopped nuts and some sugar. You are done and ready to savour it. For a healthier version, you can skip the sugar and add some raisins or chopped dates. So do give it a try and I'm sure you'll love it. Bethica Das -

Veg Pulav Veg Pulav
#lunch2Vegetable pulav is a spicy rice dish prepared by cooking rice with various vegetables and spices. The ancient Hindu text Mahabharata from India, mentions rice and meat cooked together, and the word "pulao" is used to refer to the dish in ancient Sanskrit works, such as Yajnavalkya smrti. A pulao is a dish consisting of rice and a mixture of either lentils or vegetables, mainly including peas, potatoes, french beans, carrots or meat, mainly chicken, fish, lamb, pork or prawn. It is usually served on special occasions and weddings, though it is not uncommon to eat it for a regular lunch or dinner meal. A pulao is often complemented with either spiced yogurt or raita. Biriyani is another rice dish in the Indian cuisine, similar to pulao, albeit with a different cooking method. The main distinction is that a biryani comprises layers of rice with meat or vegetables and it has more spices, the pulao is not layered and is cooked with light spices. Aswani Vishnuprasad -
Aloo Matar Poha (pan Indian hybrid recipe) Aloo Matar Poha (pan Indian hybrid recipe)
Aloo Poha (flattened rice with peas spices and potato) is a common breakfast in many parts of India. Many street vendors sell it early in the morning and some serve a side of a pea curry with it. My best poha experience was in Bhopal and Varanasi. This recipe is a mix of Maharashtra, MP and UP style poha. We skipped the shredded coconut to preserve the North Indian taste. It is a nice dish for brunch and should be eaten either with pickle, chopped onions and even with a sprinkle of sugar. Anmen -
