In typical telugu brahmins we regularly eat moong dal plain or with lemon juice added to it .There are variety of ways to prepare this dal with any leafy vegetable. We can add spinach or menthi leaves to this dal tadka . Here I have tried with spinach . My mother used to prepare this dal on Kartik somvars , when we do fasting whole day and take dinner in the night after doing pooja of Lord Siva .We used to love this dal very much with hot rice . #Feb#W4Winter is about to go and the veggies that are still around invites us to make some dishes which would showcase the lingering effect. One such is Palak Dal Tadka. This style is a little different as roasted Papad is used as a Tadka. Though not uncommon to use Papad for Tadka, I loved using and enjoying the Palak Dal with rice. Moong Dal Tadka Moong Dal Tadka
#specialWhile everyone around me is cooking scrumptious, lavish meals, I am enjoying my comfort food - "Dal - Chawal". A lavish meal works for a day or two only, but I find my solace in the staple Dal chawal.🙂A dollop of ghee in bowl of Dal, with red chillies and garlic tadka, and that aroma can make me forget my worries and tiredness.Either with rice, (Da - Chawal) or with roti. ( दाल रोटी खाओ, प्रभु के गुण गाओ) 🙂So, here's my recipe of Moong Dal Tadka.Do try it once. Shradha Nema (foodgazin')
