Butter cake with chocolate

Cooking Instructions

Place margarine and milk in a saucepan large enough to mix all dry ingredients

Heat until butter melts.cool to room temperature. Add eggs,caster sugar,sifted flour and baking powder to the sauce pan and beat with a hand-held mixer on low speed until combined

Increase speed to medium and beat for 2 minutes or until smooth

Put aside kota of the cake mixture add cocoa and beat well with a fork. The remaining mixture add vanilla essence

Then spoon both mixtures into the greased round cake tin to decorate to see the results above

Bake at 180'c for 40min or until cake springs back when lightly touched

Leave in tin for 5minutes before tur5on to a cooling rack

Ice if wished or dust with sifted icing sugar

I wanted to recreate a roll cake based on my mom's recipe book which was published more than 30 years ago, but the ingredient ratios were not quite the same as today. (LOL) So I made some modifications so that the cake will not lose volume even if I roll it up. ♪If the meringue is too stiff, it will be hard to incorporate the meringue into the batter later on. Adjust the amount of cream to your taste. If you have only a small amount of cream, you'll need to roll up the cake tightly and the cake is more likely to crack.
