Ingredients

  1. 1 cupRice
  2. 1/2 cupTuver dal
  3. 2finely Chopped Onions
  4. 2 tbspgreatted Ginger
  5. 2 tbspgreatted Garlic
  6. 3 tbspPeanuts
  7. 2chopped potatoes
  8. 2dry red chillies
  9. 2bay leaves
  10. 2cloves
  11. 3peppers
  12. 2Star Anise
  13. 2 tbspDry crushed coconut
  14. 1/4 tbspAsafoetida
  15. 2 tbspRed chili powder
  16. 1 tbspTurmeric
  17. 2 tbspCoriander powder
  18. 1 tbspGaram masala
  19. 1/2 cupChopped coriander
  20. 4 tbspOil
  21. as per taste Salt

Cooking Instructions

    First wash the rice and dal and soak them for 30 minutes.

    Heat the cooker and put oil in it, add mustard, cumin and let it crackers, Then add dry red chillies, Asafoetida, bay leaves, cloves, star anise, cinnamon and stir.

    Then add onions, ginger, garlic, peanuts and potatoes to it and saute, add asafoetida, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt and stir it till the oil separates from the spices.

    Then add rice and dal to it and mix after adding 2 glasses of water and let it boil. Now, close the lid and cook for 3 whistles on medium heat. Turn off the gas flame and let it cool naturally.

    After cooling, open the lid of the cooker and add chopped coriander and mix.

    So, Khandeshi masala khichdi is ready take it out on a serving plate add ghee and serve with papad, onion and tomato.
