Jain Moong salad (no onion no garlic no potatoes)

Ingredients

  1. 1 cupsemi cooked whole moong
  2. 2 tablespoonchopped tomatoes
  3. 2 tablespoonchopped cucumber
  4. 2 tablespoonpomegranate seeds
  5. 1 teaspoonchaat masala
  6. 1green chilli finely chopped
  7. 1 tablespoonCoriander finely chopped
  8. 1 tablespoonlemon juice
  9. as per tasteSalt

Cooking Instructions

    To make the semi cooked moong - soak the whole moong for 3 to 4 hours and boil them for 10 to 15 mins with some salt.
    If you dont have time can also give them 2 to 3 whistles in pressure cooker ensuring they are not too soft and broken. I prefer soaked and boiled.

    Assemble all the ingredients and then in a big mixing bowl add them all with the moong. Mix it gently.

    Now add the lemon juice and green chillies and salt and mix it again. Sprinkle the coriander on top. Serve and relish it...

    NOTE: Do not miss the pomegranate. Thats the ruling flavour.
