Ingredients

  1. 2 tspmoong dal
  2. 1 tsptoor dal
  3. 1 tspchana dal
  4. 1 tspurad dal
  5. 1 tspred masoor dal
  6. 1small finely chopped onion
  7. 1medium finely chopped tomato
  8. 1finely chopped green chilli
  9. 2 tspghee
  10. 1 tspcumin seeds
  11. 1 pinchasafoetida
  12. 1 tspsalt to taste
  13. 1/2 tspsugar
  14. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  15. 1/4 tspred chilli powder
  16. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  17. 2cloves
  18. 1bay leaf
  19. 1/2 tspfinely chopped coriander levels

Cooking Instructions

    Wash,soak and rinse all the dals and soak them in clear water for half hour. Add salt, turmeric powder and sugar and pressure cook the soaked dal till 6-7 whistle on a medium flames.

    Heat a pan add ghee. when heated add bay leaf, asafoetida, green chilli, cloves and cumin seeds and saute for 30 seconds.

    Add chopped onion and saute for a minutes. add chopped tomatoe and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Now add the cooked dal and stir well.

    Heat and add garam masala give a good stir and cover and heat for 3-4 minutes. Take it off gas and garnish with chopped coriander levels, then serve with chapati or rice.
