Ingredients

  1. Marination:
  2. 500 gmsmutton
  3. 2 tbspcurd/yogurt
  4. 1 1/4 tspginger,garlic paste
  5. 1/2 tspsalt
  6. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  7. 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  8. For the curry:
  9. 1 1/4-1/2 tbspoil
  10. 2green cardomoms
  11. 1 inchcinnamon stick
  12. 1 cupfinely chopped onions
  13. 1/4 cuptomatoes puree
  14. 1-2green chillies slit
  15. 2tsps meat masala
  16. 2 tbspwater(1/2 cup)
  17. to tasteSalt
  18. 1bay leaf
  19. Coriander leaves for garnish

Cooking Instructions

    Marinate mutton with the ingredients mentioned above marination.refrigerate for at least 2 hrs.

    Keep the meat out of the refrigerator at least 30 mins before cooking.

    Heat oil in a pan saute cinnamon and cardomom for 2 mins.

  4. 4

    Add onions and green chillies. Saute until onions turn golden.lower the flame to very low as much as possible.add the marinated meat and saute for 5 to 7 mins.

    Cook covered for 10 mins.when you see the moisture begins to release,then add the meat masala and saute for another 2 mins.

    Add bay leaves and repeat sauteing for 2 mins.

    Add tomato puree and saute until the raw smell of tomatoes goes away.

    Add water and pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistles on a medium flame.

    When the pressure goes off,stir and garnish it with Coriander.

    Serve with roti or rice.
