    Peel, cut, wash and pour the yam in a pot. Set the pot on a heat and cook /boil the yam.

    Wash your mortar and pestle, pour the cooked yam inside and pound it. Add little hot water to prevent it from being too thick. Pound it very well until there's no lump. Then make shape of your choice and serve with soup.
