I used ready-made instant mix, but it didn't taste right, so I tried making it my own way.

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 2blocks Firm tofu
  2. 150 gramsGround pork (or mixture with beef)
  3. 2stalks Japanese leek
  4. 1Snow peas (for garnishing)
  5. 100 mlSoy sauce
  6. 100 mlMirin
  7. 200 mlSake
  8. 100 mlWater
  9. 20to 30 grams Sugar
  10. 1 pinchSalt
  11. 1 pinchUmami seasoning (optional)
  12. 1Katakuriko, dissolved in water

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

First, mix together the seasonings to prepare the sukiyaki sauce.

  2. 2

Sautè the beef until brown, stir in the chopped leek, add the prepared sukiyaki sauce, and when it boils, add the tofu.

  3. 3

Once the tofu cooks, add the katakuriko slurry, then it's ready to serve! The thicker the sauce, the better it is to coat the ground beef.

  4. 4

I added more tofu to leftovers. Letting the dish sit for a while allows the tofu to absorb the sauce, and this makes it even tastier.
