Cooking Instructions
- 1
Soak the white rice overnight if having for breakfast. If it's for dinner, you soak it in the morning for like 5 hours
- 2
Boil the normal rice and set aside
- 3
Once, the rice is soaked, drain and transfer to a plastic bucket. That's if your taking it to be grinded. Then you chop the onions on top and take it to the grinding machine where it will be grinded for you
- 4
If your using your blender, transfer the soaked rice to a bowl and mix together with the yogurt so that it can easily blend together.
- 5
I divided my mixture into two, first I poured half into the blender with half of the onions and blended till smooth, then I poured it into my bowl
- 6
Repeat step 5 using the remaining half of the mixture
- 7
Mix in the boiled rice into the bowl.
- 8
Once blended smoothly, cover first with cling film and see if it will rise. Meanwhile at this stage you prepare the signature taushe soup that is paired with every masa
- 9
Once your soup is done, you check if it hasn't risen then you add 1 tablespoon of yeast and 1/2 tablespoon baking powder.
- 10
Allow to rise for 30 mins. Note: make sure you put the yeast close to frying time so that it doesn't have to rise then deflate again. 1 rise is just what we need
- 11
Whisk it up to remove excess air
- 12
After it has risen, add sugar to your taste
- 13
Heat up little amount of oil in your masa pan and allow to be hot
- 14
Carefully scoop in your masa batter and allow to fry on 1 side for like 2 minutes if you love it crispy with burnt edges you can leave it for 2 and half to 3 minutes
- 15
I used the biggest burner of my gas cooker but the lowest flame of it. Take note
- 16
Once, the first side is done, flip to the other side and allow to fry too
- 17
That's it. Signature masa is ready 😋😋 enjoy with miyar taushe

Prove-less Pizza in 10 Minutes Prove-less Pizza in 10 Minutes
I love pizza, and this is the result of me wishing I could make it quickly when I have a craving for it.You can make it with either cake flour or bread flour, but when I used bread flour the dough was difficult to handle. I think you should make it with cake flour at first, and then when you get good at it you can switch to a combination of flours. If you use baking powder, you can make it easily without proving. It tastes so good made fresh. Of course since you're not using yeast, if you don't eat it quickly it will begin to harden. If you're not going to eat it right away, after Step 2 or Step 3, wrap it up and store it in the freezer. You can use it without thawing. Recipe by cheese cheese cookpad.japan -
Karukan: A Regional Speciality from Kagoshima Karukan: A Regional Speciality from Kagoshima
This is how my mother taught me how to prepare traditional karukan from my hometown in Kagoshima. The steaming phase is the most important part of preparing karukan. If you steam it too much, it'll become hard. If you steam too little, the batter will not firm up and it'll be very difficult to get out of the mold. You can also make karukan without the anko sweet bean paste filling. Use a pan that you would use for pound cake or something similar, and just pour the batter in and steam it on its own. Recipe by Mashirochan cookpad.japan -
Butter and Egg-free Easy Yoghurt Muffins Butter and Egg-free Easy Yoghurt Muffins
Butter has become expensive, so I wanted to make butter-free muffins. I came up with this based on a recipe I uploaded previously.Make sure you sift in the flour and that you mix it in a cutting motion with a rubber spatula! If you use too much topping, the muffins will overflow from the cups, so be careful! Mahua: Twisty Chinese Fried Snacks Mahua: Twisty Chinese Fried Snacks
These are called various things depending on the manufacturer. If you go to Chinatown, you can always buy these. They are very simple, but you won't tire of them. The key to these is that firm, chewy texture, but if you make them yourself you can make them as hard or soft as you like! Shaping these is a lot of fun.As long as you know how to form these they are not hard to make. If you are making these for the first time, you can use half of the dough to experiment. They are more nutty and fragrant if you fry them to the point where you think they might be a bit overdone. If you omit the baking powder they'll be even harder. If you prefer them to be softer though, try using 140 g of cake flour and 100 g of bread flour. For 14 to 16 mahua. Recipe by Kototama cookpad.japan -
Great as Snacks: Mayo-Cheese Scones Great as Snacks: Mayo-Cheese Scones
This is a salty variation of my Easy Scones recipe, since I want something savory too. I've kept it simple as usual, and used sliced cheese since I wanted to make it with ingredients that I usually have on hand. When you move the cut dough, the points of the triangles may get shifted or bent, so move the scones carefully. If the points do get misshapen, fix them after you've moved them.... On the other hand, the points tend to stick together once they are baked anyway, so don't worry about it too much.Try these with ham sandwiched in them, or with added toppings too. Obihiro Pork Don ~ Big Bowl with Pork Offcuts! Obihiro Pork Don ~ Big Bowl with Pork Offcuts!
When you order this at any restaurant in Obihiro city, there's so much meat that you can't see the rice below! When prepared at home, each family has their own spin to it. My family prefers the seasoning to be concentrated.Watch the meat as it cooks as cheap cuts of meat will become rubbery if cooked for too long. It's best if you use fresh cuts of meat, even if it's cheap.I recommend using pork loin or belly for ultimate results. Use the leftover sauce in fried rice. Recipe by Manacchi cookpad.japan -
My Simple Butter-Free Waffles My Simple Butter-Free Waffles
I wanted to be able to make waffles even when I don't have a lot of time, so I came up with this recipe. It's the second recipe in my waffle series. You should definitely use pearl sugar or waffle sugar, granulated sugar etc. It really enhances the flavor and the crispiness. Just use a generous sprinkling of regular sugar if you don't have any of these special sugars on hand. When they cool down, lightly heat them back up in the toaster-oven and they'll taste good. For 8 waffles. Recipe by mio*. cookpad.japan -
