Moong dal is said to be the most enriched in protein, as compared to other dals.
Halwa made from moong dal and flavored with cardamom and almonds. It's a perfect festival dessert to indulge in! Quick, easy and absolutely delicious. Try it out friends!.!!

Ingredients

  1. 1 cupyellow moong dal
  2. 4 tspwheat flour
  3. 3/4 cupghee
  4. 350 ml.Milk
  5. 2 tspmalai
  6. 2 tspalmond
  7. 1 tspcardamom powder

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and soak dal for 4-5 hrs. After that remove the water and coarsely grind it. Take a kadai add ghee and wheat flour. Roast it till turns golden brown and its aroma is felt. This will give binding to the halwa.

    Now add ground moong dal and roast in a low to medium flame till it releases ghee around 25 minutes. This requres patience.

    At this stage add milk and malai. You can add saffron or food color if desire.

    Finally add sugar and cardamom powder and stir till our halva leaves the kadai and you will find that ghee is released. Our moong dal halwa is ready to serve after garnishing with chopped almonds.
