Except for waiting for meat to marinate,( which is worth the wait) , this is a quick, easy meal. I don't add salt in my recipe because of the soy sauce. Taste the sauce before adding the broccoli and add if you feel necessary.

2 people
  1. 12 ouncesflank steak
  2. 3 tablespoonsginger garlic paste
  3. 1/4 cupsoy sauce
  4. 1/4 cupsesame rice vinegar
  5. 1 tablespoonoil
  6. 1 tablespooncorn starch
  7. 2 cupsbeef stock
  8. Extra 1/2 cup soy sauce
  9. 1 tablespoonoyster sauce
  10. 1/2 teaspoonblack pepper
  11. 1 tablespoonsugar
  12. 4 cupssteamed broccoli, just under completely tender
  13. 6 ounceswater chestnuts

Cooking Instructions

30 minutes
  1. 1

Thinly slice flank steak. I cut into cubes this time.

  2. 2

In a bowl add steak, ginger garlic paste and the 1/4 cup soy sauce and 1/4 cup sesame rice vinegar. Mix ingredients and marinate beef for at least 6 hours. Preferably overnight.

  3. 3

To start cooking take beef out of refrigerator half hour before beginning. To fry up meat it's best to have it at room temperature.

  4. 4

In a large skillet and oil and heat it over medium high heat. Drain beef from marinade but reserve it. Add beef to heated oil and saute for 5 minutes.

  5. 5

Lower heat to medium. Mix all other ingredients in with left over marinade. Stir and add to beef once you see beef is cooked through.

  6. 6

Heat until bubbly and sauce starts to thicken. Add the broccoli and water chestnuts. Cook for another 2 minutes and serve.

  7. 7

Optional is adding in some red pepper flakes while sauce cooks. We like spicy foods so I add them. It is up to your taste preferences. I serve over hit basmati rice.
