Preheat the oven to 180°C.

In a saucepan, combine butter, honey, pistachios, and sugar. Heat until the mixture boils briefly and the sugar dissolves.

Remove from heat and stir in the sliced almonds, ensuring they are well coated.

Spoon small amounts of the mixture into each mould, just enough to cover the bottom.

Bake for about 12 minutes at 180°C, until golden and caramelized.

Allow to cool. Optionally, coat the bottom with melted dark chocolate or drizzle chocolate on top.

It falls off if you just put them on so I mixed it with caramel like a florentine biscuit and it turned out be amazing!The caramel gets dark (and bitter) when you heat it too quickly over strong heat so make sure you heat it slowly over low heat.Here, I used 3 slices of crust I got from the bakery but you can also use any bread you like such as white bread or slices of french baguette. This is one of my favorite sweets, but it's unexpectedly expensive when you try to buy it, so I made it myself. You might hesitate to buy malt syrup, but you really should. It is worth the price.I usually bake this on a cookie sheet, but you can try making the mini sized tarts for your family as well.After baking, cut it up as soon as it is cool enough to touch.It breaks apart easily once it hardens, and you won't be to get it out of the mold.You won't need a special mold if you are making them in squares. I always wanted to try to make protein bars. They are very easy to grab and go. Here is how ended up with. (If you don’t have almond meal you can make your own with pulsing whole almonds in a food processor until get crumbly texture has formed. Do little pulses, do not use processor continuously , unless you want almond “butter”) Choose your own ingredients , I don’t like chocolate very much , but you can add in the mixture. You can also wrap them individually and freeze them.

Cranberry Almond Granola
