Roasted bell pepper sauce for pasta Roasted bell pepper sauce for pasta
This is a recipe that I came up with one day when I was roasting some bell peppers to preserve in oil. It has since become a family favorite, both as a side dish (like in the photo) or as a main. I use fresh homemade pasta, but it works well with store bought spaghetti or fettuccine noodles. Martin Jon Madsen -
Our Family's Chicken in Tomato Sauce Our Family's Chicken in Tomato Sauce
I wanted to make a substantial one-plate dish in a hurry...so I cooked a lot of chicken in sauce. Even my raw tomato-hating son can eat dishes made with canned tomatoes, so it's also a way to get him to eat tomatoes.Because the chicken is fried with a flour coating, none of the umami escapes. I like to use a wok with a non-stick coating to simmer the chicken. The amount of chicken and mushrooms varies in our house depending on who's at home the day. For 4 servings. Nanban Sauce Simmered Chicken Breast Sauté Nanban Sauce Simmered Chicken Breast Sauté
✿ I like cooking with chicken breasts. I first thought of making a nanban with thick sauce, and I figured that I'd get the sauce to thicken up somewhat if I sautéd the chicken with flour on it. I tried it and it came out well. This actually helped get rid of the gaminess as well!!✿ I added honey because I thought that the chicken would harden up if I went overboard with mirin. If you don't have any honey, don't increase the amount of mirin and use sugar as a substitute. You lose a bit of the gloss but overall there's no big difference.✿ Though this will depend on the size of the chicken meat, if you use a lot of flour to coat it, the sauce will thicken too much. However it'll still taste like "Nanban Sauce" so you don't have to worry about it too much (a thick sauce perhaps makes it great for lunch boxes).✿ I used one chicken breast at 220 g. Singapore Chicken Rice with Ginger Sauce Singapore Chicken Rice with Ginger Sauce
The Singapore chicken rice with ginger sauce I had at a cafe was so delicious. So I came up with this recipe to make it easily at home. You don't need to use fresh coriander if you don't like it! (Actually, I don't like it myself.)You can use boiled chicken instead of cooking it with the rice! The boiled chicken has a firmer texture, so choose whichever you like. Italian Chicken in Tomato Sauce Italian Chicken in Tomato Sauce
I was inspired by a chicken dish that I ate at an Italian restaurant to make this recipe.Simmer longer to make the chicken softer and the onions creamier. Please shorten the simmering time if you prefer your onions to retain their shape.Add more sugar and ketchup into the sauce if you like it sweeter.I usually leave some sauce for the following day to enjoy some pasta for lunch. Super Easy Thai Sweet Chili Sauce Chicken Super Easy Thai Sweet Chili Sauce Chicken
You'll want to marinate this chicken for about an hour or two at least. If it works with your schedule, I find that marinating it and letting sit on the counter for the next hour before roasting results in a good level of seasoning without making the meat feel and taste brined, while bringing the chicken up to room temp, which is optimal for cooking while retaining juices. x -

Curry Pilaf with Chicken in Tomato-Cream Sauce Curry Pilaf with Chicken in Tomato-Cream Sauce
I wanted to make a fun meal that was very original and that people wouldn't get tired of. It had to be inexpensive and delicious, too. I don't know if a dish like this already exists, but I thought it sounded like a good combination and tried it out. Result: it was very tasty, so I turned it into a recipe.I wasn't sure whether I should stir fry the flour with the chicken, but mixing it with milk worked fine. In Step 6, simmer the sauce for 1-2 minutes after it's bubbling. If you use cream instead of milk, the sauce will be quite rich. You could blend milk and cream, too. For 4 servings.
