Ingredients

1 minute
16 servings
  1. chocolate
  2. 1 boxChocolate Fudge or Swiss Chocolate cake mix
  3. 3 largeeggs
  4. 1 cupvegetable oil
  5. 1 1/2 cupbuttermilk
  6. 1 smallbox instant vanilla pudding mix
  7. 1whipped cream cheese frosting recipe
  8. 2 largecandy bars of choice crushed up approx. 1 cup

Cooking Instructions

1 minute
  1. 1

Prepare 3- 9" round cake pans with oil & flour. Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix all the ingredients (except frosting & candy bars) med speed with a mixers for 2 minutes until blended. Batter will be thick.

  2. 2

Put equal amounts of batter in each cake pan. Batter will be thick so spread it around evenly.

  3. 3

Bake on 350 for approx. 20-25 minutes. Check with a toothpick or knife inserted until comes out clean.

  4. 4

Place on a plate or cake carrier with strips of wax paper under the edges to avoid the plate from being real messy after frosting.

  5. 5

Use my whipped cream cheese frosting recipe to frost the first layer, (top only)

  6. 6

Coat the top with crushed candy bar. I used 2 extra large Butterfingers.

  7. 7

Add next cake round & repeat. Add top cake round & frost the sides. It is messy but if the frosting is refrigerated beforehand it is easier.

  8. 8

Coat the top & sides with crushed candy bars. The sides are hard to do. You may have to pat it on with your hand. Refrigerated any leftovers.

I enjoy watching cooking shows & I am most creative after watching several chopped episodes! I live in a country town & it's a ways to a good grocery store so I have to be creative with what I have available or go 25 miles to Kroger! My hubby & son are big eaters & very different at that. I try to please both with a little country cooking but also changing it up sometimes with different cuisines! My love of cooking was nurtured by my Dad who coaxed me into tasting all kinds of different foods growing up. Both my sons love trying new recipes. My youngest son is now taking Culinary in Vocational school! Guess it runs in the family!
