Mashed Potatoes and Rutabagas

Ingredients

  1. 3 lbrutabagas, peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces
  2. 2 1/2 lbpotatoes, peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces (about 5 or 6 medium)
  3. 2 tbspbutter
  4. 2/3 cupmilk
  5. 1/4 tsppepper
  6. 1/4 tspnutmeg
  7. 2 tspchopped parsley, optional

Cooking Instructions

    Cook rutabaga and potatoes in separate saucepans. ( rutabagas 30 minutes, potatoes 20 to 25 minutes)

    Drain ; puree or mash rutabaga well, then mash the potatoes.

    Combine with butter, milk, pepper and nutmeg. Beat well.

  4. 4

    Taste and add more salt if necessary.

    Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.
