bring a pan of water to boil. add half of a savoy cabbage sliced.

heat a griddle pan. fry sliced onion with a drop of oil

roughly chop steaky bacon. add to griddle pan until crisp

add the peppers

once cabbage cooked drain and add to griddle pan

mix all together and add some hot sauce to taste

serve with grated cheese on top or without. great as a side dish or just an interesting main

Lloyd's Batch Candied Bacon
This candied bacon recipe started with a conversation with Lloyd's "Uncle Al" Dombek. The conversation began with a description of Al's new maple syrup, and ended with a lot of whiskey talk. The whiskey talk ended up at a story about my favorite cocktail, a Old Fashioned made with maple syrup and candided bacon. Al delivered the maple syrup the next morning for a Blueberry Pancake Breakfast, but I was already trying to figure out how to use his maple syrup for candied bacon and an Old Fashioned.
