Japanese Seaweed Salad with Sesame & Miso Dressing
Japanese seaweed salad with sesame and miso dressing is a quick and very refreshing recipe which is perfect to eat during the hot summer weather. I will share with you two different ways to prepare this salad. One with Japanese mustard greens (mizuna); and one with cucumber, red leaf lettuce and tomato.35 years ago in Japan, I was introduced to the Japanese seaweed salad(Kaisou Sarada in Japanese) and fell in love with this dish. An authentic Japanese seaweed salad is not the same as those you get in the Japanese restaurant in the State. Salad Dressing
Use this sauce when it's hot outside for salads or cold shabu shabu. When you make this with regular winter-stored onions, let it rest for 2 to 3 days in the refrigerator after making it. This will soften the flavors and make the dressing tastier.I recommend making this when sweet onions are in season. Please see, Japonaise Sauce For Steak and Hamburgers. For about 300 ml. Cabbage, Tuna and Wakame Seaweed Salad With Mayonnaise-Ponzu Dressing
I made this with things I already had in the refrigerator when I thought I needed one more item for dinner.Adjust the amount of vegetables you use to your liking. Strawberry Spinach Salad with Soy Worcestershire Dressing
This is a kid favorite salad in our house as well as a crowd pleaser for picnics, BBQs, and potlucks for the tasty mashup of fruit, veg, and sweet savory tangy dressing.I'm making it for Thanksgiving this year to make sure my teenaged son gets plenty of veg with that side of bacon he asked for . ;)Here in California, we get strawberries pretty much year round, though they tend to be better in Spring. If it's not strawberry season where you live, a mildly tart apple or firm pear cut into small chunks are both great substitutes.
