Danwake is one of my favorite,I don’t get tired of eating danwake.Most people from the north know what danwake is and have different methods of eating danwake,but for me I prefer eating danwake with sliced cucumber,egg,raw onions,pepper known as “yaji”,maggi and then fried oil.

Ingredients

  • Flour
  • Kuka(dried powdered baobab leaf)
  • Water
  • Potash(kanwa)

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix potash with water and allow it for like 3minutes.

  2. 2

    Pour flour into a bowl,add kuka,and then use the potash mixed with water to mix the mixture of the dried ingredients.

    Set pot on fire with cold water and then allow the water to start boiling before you start dropping the dumpling into the water for it to get cooked.You can use spoon to drop the dumplings or wash your hands before using them to drop the dumplings.

  4. 4

    Once you are done dropping the dumplings into the water stir it to avoid it getting sticky.then cover it a little with the pot lid and allow it to get cooked for 10-15 minutes. Before pouring it out to a bowl of cold water once it’s done. Fry the oil,add the sliced cucumber,onions,yaji and also the boiled egg before eating.
