Whole masoor dal tadka
Cooking Instructions

Wash the dal and add 4 times water in it. Add the baking soda too. Add salt. Cook for 5 to 6 whistles. Let the cooker cool itself. The consistency of the dal would be like in the pic below.

Heat oil in a pan. Add bay leaf and whole red chillies. Add onions garlic and ginger. Once the onions turn golden add chopped tomatoes.

Add in hing red chilli powder and coriander powder.

Add some water to prevent the spices from burning. Once the spices are done add the dal. Cook for 5 minutes. Switch off flame. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve with chapatis or rice topped with some cream or ghee.
