Crunchy and absolutely loved snack at tea-time and is probably the most easiest one to make. People relish them with Shaam Ki Chai in every home in the Country. These can never fail you, inspite of the fact that there are an umpteen number of variations available. These have a charm of their own. Therefore how can my Iftaar be complete without them. To my family's delight, I made them these lovely looking Fritters to enjoy during the breaking of a day long fast. This is the bestest snack and unparalleled in terms of taste and texture for me.

Ingredients

25-30 minutes
5 servings
  1. 1 cupGram Flour or Besan
  2. 3-4Onions thinly sliced
  3. 1/2 tspSalt
  4. 1/4 tspTurmeric powder
  5. 1/8 tspAsafoetida
  6. 1/8 tspBaking Soda
  7. 1 tbspRed chilli powder
  8. 1 tspCumin powder roasted
  9. 1 tspCoriander powder roasted
  10. 1/2of a small bunch of Coriander Leaves finely chopped
  11. Water as required
  12. Oil for frying as required
  13. 1 tspChat Masala

Cooking Instructions

25-30 minutes
  1. 1

Make a smooth and a fluffy batter using water as required. Do not add much of it. It is important. Otherwise the Onion Fritters will not come out good. Onions have a tendency of leaving water, therefore there is no need to add more of it.

  2. 2

Deep fry them in hot Oil on a medium high heat dropping small balls of the batter. Keep changing the sides while frying for an evenly done Bhajiye. Serve with any Chutney of your choice or good old Kissan Tomato Ketchup with a generous sprinkle of Chat Masala. Enjoy!

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
