First of all gently wash tamarind seeds with water without wasting it's pulp.Now soak tamarind seeds or imli for 1 hour. After that remove the seeds from the pulp by mashing imli with your hand. Transfer the pulp to another bowl.

Take a pan. Add oil to it. Heat the oil. Now add kalonji. Immediately add imli pulp to the pan. Add spices. Stir it.

Put the flame to low. Add jaggery. And stir again. Keep cooking until chutney thickens.

Remove from the flame. Transfer to another bowl/sauce bottle.
