Dry roast all the ingredients given for vellulikaram. Grind all the items except garlic first and then add garlic, grind it to coarse powder. Set aside.

In a pan, oil, mustard seeds, urad dal,curry leaves and let it splutter. Then add chopped onion,turmeric, salt and saute until golden brown.

Cut the tindora into slices lengthwise or circle shaped. Add it to the pan and cook it for 15 mins or until it turns soft on low flame by closing it with a lid.

Once it is cooked nicely, add the ground masala powder and mix well. Now the tasty tindora fry is ready.
