Mock-Chicken Tenders with Firm Tofu

I wanted to use up tofu that was close to the expiration date. This didn't taste like tofu at all and it was delicious on rice.
Try not to move the tofu in the pan until it's browned. The tofu will release a lot of moisture. After seasoning with mirin and soy sauce, stir to help the liquid evaporate. Be patient with cooking the tofu. Recipe by Naoluna

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Add the vegetable oil to a non-stick frying pan. Before you turn on the heat, crumble the tofu with your hands and add it to the pan.
- 2
Heat the frying pan from Step 1. Cook over medium heat until you start to hear a crackling sound. Then, reduce the heat a bit and continue to cook. Don't move the tofu while it's cooking.
- 3
Shake the pan once in a while. Check the bottom of the tofu, and when it's browned, flip with a spatula and then let the tofu cook again without moving it.
- 4
When the tofu is browned on all sides, stir everything around like you're stir-frying it. It will become crumbly.
- 5
Turn the heat up a bit and add the mirin and soy sauce and let the flavors coat the tofu.
- 6
Season with sesame seeds and sesame oil and it's ready.

Chicken Tenders Garlic & Soy Sauce Fry Chicken Tenders Garlic & Soy Sauce Fry
I'm having to prepare a lot of chicken tenders, which are high in protein and low in fat, for my husband's diet. Since chicken tenders are fairly light, I made these to have more punch and be more filling. My husband, who loves steak, is completely satisfied with this dish!Adding the sesame oil to the marinade gives this it's Japanese flavor without using too much oil. Once you try it, you'll be addicted to it! They're also good cold, and since frying them reduces the garlic smell, these are great for bento lunchboxes. They go very well with a sweet omelet! If your chicken tenders have sinews please remove them. Recipe by Akkiito cookpad.japan -
