This was my cousins recipe that we would eat every Thanksgiving. This fills an 8” square dish. I’ve adjusted this by using less sugar than our original recipe.

This was my cousins recipe that we would eat every Thanksgiving. This fills an 8” square dish. I’ve adjusted this by using less sugar than our original recipe.

Ingredients

1 hour
  1. 6 cupscooked mashed sweet potatoes
  2. 1/2 cupswhite sugar
  3. 4eggs beaten
  4. 2 tsp.vanilla
  5. 1 cupmelted butter
  6. 1/2 cupevaporated milk
  7. 1/2 cupbrown sugar
  8. 1/3 cupflour
  9. 1/3 cupbutter
  10. 1 cupchopped and whole pecans

Cooking Instructions

    Mix the first 6 ingredients (sweet potatoes, white sugar, eggs, vanilla, melted butter, evap milk) together and pour into buttered casserole dish.

    Cut the butter into the brown sugar and flour until crumbly. Add the nuts and mix well. Sprinkle this over the potato mixture in the casserole dish.

    Bake in preheated oven at 350degrees for 30 - 40 minutes. The middle should be firm.
