My mom has been making this casserole every Christmas for as long as I can remember. It's best to start the night before and enjoy on Christmas morning.

Ingredients

1 Night + 60min
6-8 servings
  1. 16 oz.package Jimmy Dean Sausage (cooked, drained & crumbled)
  2. 4 cupscubed day old bread
  3. 2 cupsshredded sharp cheddar cheese
  4. 10eggs slightly beaten
  5. 2 cans(12 fl.oz. each) Evaporated Milk
  6. 1 tsp.dry mustard
  7. 1 tsp.salt
  8. 1/4 tsp.onion powder
  9. Fresh ground pepper to taste
  10. 1/2 cupsliced mushrooms (optional)
  11. 1/2 cuppeeled, chopped tomatoes

Cooking Instructions

1 Night + 60min

    Place bread in greased 9x13" baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese.

    Combine milk, eggs, mustard, onion powder and pepper in medium bowl. Poor evenly over the bread and cheese.

    Sprinkle the sausage and optional ingredients over top. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

    Preheat Oven to 325°f

    Big uncovered for 55 to 60 minutes. Tent with foil if top begins to brown too quickly.
