3 Minute Bread Pudding (for breakfast and snacktime)

When I was a university student, I would want to eat French toast for breakfast, but I didn't want to wash all the dishes and wanted to eat something quickly. So I tried microwaving it.... it became a bread pudding.
My 2 year old daughter gobbles this right up. Please enjoy it together.

I usually eyeball the ingredients and just tear the bread apart with my hands. The main point is to use a lot of milk.
Adjust the amount of bread and cooking time based on your taste.
If you have a strong wattage microwave (900 W etc.), it will be fluffy and gooey after just 2 minutes. Recipe by Karenmamacchi

Ingredients

1 serving
  1. 1 1/2 sliceSliced bread (6 or 8 slice loaf)
  2. 1Egg
  3. 3 tbspSugar
  4. 200 mlMilk
  5. 1Butter (or margarine)
  6. 1Cinnamon sugar

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Place the egg in a heat-proof bowl. Add the sugar and then the milk, using a spoon to mix after each addition.

  2. 2

Cut the slices of bread into easy to eat pieces or tear apart with your hands. Add to Step 1 and soak completely with the mixture.

  3. 3

    Cover with plastic wrap and microwave (600 W) for 2 1/2 - 3 minutes!

  4. 4

Optionally top with butter or cinnamon sugar to finish. The only dishes you need to wash is the plate and the spoon. There's nothing to wash until you finish eating.

  5. 5

I made the bread pudding in the main photo with a moderate amount of sugar and topped with margarine. Then I drizzled on some honey.

  6. 6

Top with raisins and then microwave! This is also delicious.
