Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan, add chopped onion and saute until the color changes.

Then add the ginger, garlic and gratted coconut and roast for 5 minutes.

After the mixture cools down a little, add half a cup of water and finely grind it well.

Heat oil in a pan, add crushed paste and saute. Then add tomatoes and let it rise till it becomes soft.

Now add asafoetida, turmeric, red chilli, cumin, garam masala, salt and saute till oil is released from the masala.

Then add 2 glasses of water and let it boil. Once the water boils add save and turn off the gas flame by adding coriander.

So, Maharashtrian Sevbhaji is ready to serve.
