Ingredients

30 to 40 mins
4 servings
  • 20-24Spinach (Palak) leaves, medium sized
  • 1 cupgram flour / Besan
  • 4 TbspRice flour
  • 2 Tbspcornflour
  • 1/4 tspCarom seeds / Ajwain
  • 1/4 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1 tspRed chili powder
  • 1 tspcoriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • as neededWater
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Chaat masala and red chilli powder, to sprinkle on top of pakoras

    Wash and dry the spinach leaves
    remove the hard stalk. Rinse them well carefully. Pat it dry using kitchen towel or paper napkin. Keep the cleaned, dry spinach leaves aside.

    In a wide pan make a thick batter by mixing gram flour, turmeric,carom seeds, salt,red chilli powder,coriander powder, rice flour and some water.

    Heat oil in a wok
    Dip each spinach leaf in batter to coat it evenly. Drop the leaf gently in the oil and fry it on a medium heat till the pakoras are crisp.
    Remove and drain on tissue paper.
    Sprinkle chat masala on palak pakoras and serve them hot with tomato sauce.

    Serving Suggestion
    Serve with tomato sauce along with a cup of hot chai / tea. Enjoy!!
