Jackfruits are high- fibre,vitamin and mineral rich fruit.It can be consumed afresh as delicious fruit .It can as well be used for making varieties of dishes. I have enjoyed eating this jackfruit dumbling prepared by my mum in vazhanayila in my child hood . Now whenever jackfruits are available ,those memories instigate to me to prepare this snack which is best enjoyed by my friends and my whole family. Very tasty natural food with sweet aroma..of vazhanayila

Ingredients

  1. 1 cuprice flour (Puttupodi)
  2. 1/4 cupcoconut grated
  3. 1 cupJackfcruit cleaned and grated
  4. 3 tbspsSugar (molasses )
  5. 2 tbspsginger cardamom Dried , and jeerak powdered

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Mix the puttupodi with the grated or blended jackfruit, sugar,and the spices powder.Make it soft by the hand. If the dough is hard,add little boiling water.Add a pinch of salt.Make small dumblings and fill them in small cones made of vazhanayila.Cook in an idly cooker for 10 minutes. The Kumbil appam or vazhanayila appam with sweet aroma is ready to serve
