Ingredients

  1. 1/2Cabbage
  2. 6Boiled Potatoes
  3. 1/4Onion chooped small
  4. 1/4 tspSalt
  5. 1/2 tspBlack Cracked Pepper
  6. 500 gramsButter
  7. 1Egg
  8. 1 tbspFlour
  9. 1little flour for surface

Cooking Instructions

    Chop cabbage and boil cabbage for 15 mins, then chop and drain off moisture. Put it in a large bowl to mix, add salt and pepper.

    Add the mashed potatoes, and butter together, then add the onions and mix add equal amounts of mash and cabbage, 4 tblsp mash to 4 tblsp cabbage

    Add the beaten egg and mix well, Add a tblsp of the flour to the mix just to dry it a little and mix in.

    With a tablespoon, heap a tablespoon of the mixture onto the floured surface and make it into a burger shape.

    Lift it onto a flat spatula and place on plate. Carry on until the mix has gone. Makes 4 large ones

    In a large flat fry pan heat up the olive oil until hot. Then carefully place the cakes in the fry pan and cook two at a time for room to turn over.

    Fry on one side for 2 mins on full heat, carfeully scoop up the cake and turn over. Fry on other side, do this twice until it become more solid and golden brown. Soft on inside but crisp on the outer.

    When cooked place on serving dish, sprinkle with Parsley or Tomatol.

I only started experimenting with herbs and spices and items I had never heard of before through joining Cookpad 2014 and I'm still learning new things. It is a passion of mine and I always invite my family around so I can create something new for them to try. my children grew up learning lots from me I have 3 daughters all with their own families and two Sons one who cooks for his family also my youngest son who is still at home with me,he comes up with some lovely meals and ideas so I'm proud of them all. 💜

Sounds delicious. I usually make bubble and squeak with the left over potatoes and brussel sprouts at Christmas.
