Sharing my "good for any meal/occasion" asian meatballs with you guys. I baked these, but you can do them in a slow cooker for a twist on those office party slow cooker meatballs. You can serve it as a main with rice or quinoa and some veggies. You can literally have these lil guys any way or any time . Enjoy! ! 😉😊😊

Ingredients

  • Meat Mixture
  • 1 lbground meat (beef,turkey or pork) I used lean beef in these
  • 3 tbspminced water chestnuts
  • 1Green onion, chopped
  • 3garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cuppanko breadcrumbs
  • 1egg
  • 1 tspsambal (or red pepper flakes)
  • 1 1/2 tspgrated fresh ginger
  • Sauce
  • 1 tsplemongrass paste (optional)
  • 1/3 cupHoisin Sauce
  • 2 tbspsoya sauce
  • 2garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/4 tspsesame oil
  • 1 tspsambal
  • 1 1/2 tspgrated fresh ginger
  • 1 1/2 tsprice wine vinegar
  • Pan steamed Bok choy
  • 1 lbFresh Bok choy (I used Shanghai bok choy here)
  • 1garlic cloves, minced
  • salt and pepper

Steps

  1. 1

    In a bowl, bring together meat mixture. Form into small balls and bake on baking sheet for 20 min @ 375°F. Then under the broiler for 5 min.

  2. 2

    While balls baking, whisk together sauce in sauce pan and just heat through.

  3. 3

    In a separate pan, heat 1 tsp oil with garlic and toss bok choy together for about 5 min until cooked (but crisp) Add salt and pepper to taste.

  4. 4

    Once balls are cooked you and dip each individually, or pour sauce over meatballs. Sprinkle with sesame seeds (optional)
