Ingredients

  1. 1 cupBasmati rice
  2. 35 mlGhee
  3. 2 smallChopped Onions
  4. 1/2 tbspChopped Ginger
  5. 1 tbspMustard
  6. 4 eachCurry leaves
  7. 5 eachDry chillies
  8. 1 eachLemon
  9. 2 tbspUra dal
  10. 1 tbspMint leaves
  11. 1/2 tbspTumeric Powder

Cooking Instructions

    Cook the rice and keep aside to cool. Do not overcook the rice.

    Squeeze the lemon and keep the juice aside.

  3. 3

    Heat the Ghee in a medium flame.

  4. 4

    Add the mustard seeds and curry leaves when the ghee is hot.

  5. 5

    Add the dry chillies, ura dal and ginger. Saute it for a minute.

  6. 6

    Now add the chopped onions. Sweat the onions

  7. 7

    Pour in the lemon juice and add the tumeric powder. Mix well.

  8. 8

    Mix in the rice slowly. Mix it well till it gets the unique colour. Add salt to taste.

    Hold it warm to serve, garnish with chopped mint leaves.
