Eggnog sans Eggs Eggnog sans Eggs
What, eggnog without eggs? Is it even possible?I was reluctant to make more eggnogs (oh those precious eggs!) and suddenly I had a brainwave! I could add some custard powder instead! So it's not actually eggnog, but it tastes similar to it!#12plates Angela Mertoyono -
Eggnog for adults Eggnog for adults
This is a variation of an old recipe found in many cookbooks. This version came from 'Joy of Cooking'. It offers even stronger & richer ratios if this isn't enough fat & alcohol. 52dogtruck -
Thick Eggnog Thick Eggnog
When I tried heating this directly on the hob and using a wooden spatula the mixture would separate easily. When I tried heating it more gently and slowly, it really improved the results.-The trick to this recipe is to not overheat the mixture. Once the mixture starts to thicken, don't take your eyes off it and keep stirring. If the mixture starts to foam too much, mix it more slowly with the whisk.-If you're making this for kids, make it with sake that's had the alcohol completely burned off. Eggnog French Toast Eggnog French Toast
I wanted french toast, then halfway through mixing egg whites and cinnamon, I realized I ran out of soy milk. I had some soy eggnog (lactose intolerant) sitting in the fridge, so I just substituted that instead! It was AWESOME! All of the measurements are estimates, so throw in some of your own flair! jessica.scanlan3 -
Eggnog Bread Pudding Eggnog Bread Pudding
I created this bread pudding based loosely on another recipe when I wanted something a little extra special for Christmastime. The taste is addictive! It never fails to quickly disappear whenever I make it. fancypants -
