Ingredients

  1. 15-20 leavesSpinach finely chopped
  2. 3/4 cupChana dal
  3. 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  4. 1 pinchAsafotida (hing)
  5. 2 tbspOil
  6. 1 tspCumin seeds
  7. 1Onion chopped medium
  8. 1 tspLemon juice
  9. 6-8 clovesGarlic chopped
  10. 1 inchGinger chopped
  11. 2Green chillies chopped
  12. to tasteSalt

Steps

  1. 1

    Cook dal with turmeric powder & asafoetida till soft.

  2. 2

    Heat oil in a pan.

  3. 3

    Add cumin seeds, garlic, ginger, green chillies & onion.

  4. 4

    Saute till onion gets lightly browned.

  5. 5

    Add spinich & saute for a min.

  6. 6

    Add dal and mix well.

  7. 7

    Add one cup water, salt & stir.

  8. 8

    Add lemon juice, mix & serve hot.
