Ingredients

8 to 10 servings
  • Chicken one kg cut into 12 pcs
  • 2 tspSalt
  • 2 tspRed chilli pwd
  • 1 tspCrushed red chillies
  • 1/2 tspHaldi
  • Corriander and zeera 1 tsp each
  • 1 tspChaat masala
  • 1.5 tspGaram masala
  • Bay leaf 2
  • Cinnamon stick 2
  • 1Black cardomon
  • 4Green cardomon
  • Cloves4
  • 4Whole black pepper
  • 1Star anise
  • 1 tbspG/g paste
  • 1 tbspGreen chilli paste
  • 1 cupYogurt
  • 1 cupOil
  • Onions 3 sliced
  • Tomatoes 3 blended
  • Basmati rice 750 gms cooked till 3/4 done n boiled with salt
  • leavesMint and corriander
  • 2 tbspLemon juice
  • Aaloo bhukara soaked in 1 cup water to softened it up
  • Green chillies whole
  • o
  • 1/4 tspOrange colour
  • Zaafran,khewra n biryani essence 1/4 tsp each

Steps

  1. 1

    Marinate chicken with the above mentioned ingredients for 30 mins.

  2. 2

    Put oil n fry onions till golden

  3. 3

    Now add marinated chicken n fry for 5 mins.

  4. 4

    Next add tomatoes n cover n cook till almost tender.

  5. 5

    Now add aaloo bhukara too along with lemon juice n put on dum for 2 mins.

  6. 6

    In a pot put oil 2 tbsp with 1/4 cup water n put rice, coloured mixture, chicken mixture, corriander leaves,again rice n repeat layers.

  7. 7

    Final layer will be of rice with colour mixture, corriander leaves n whole green chillies.

  8. 8

    Put on high for 5 mins n give dum of 15 mins till done.

  9. 9

    Dish out and garnish with mint leaves.

  10. 10

    Serve with raita /salad.
