Ingredients

  1. Sauce
  2. 2 tablespoonsolive oil
  3. 1onion finely chopped
  4. 1garlic clove crushed
  5. 400 gcan chopped tomatoes (with herbs)
  6. 1 tablespoontomato purée
  7. Pizza Base
  8. 275 gplain flour
  9. 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  10. 1 teaspooneasy blend yeast
  11. 2 tablespoonsolive oil
  12. Topping
  13. 1/2red pepper sliced into rings
  14. 1/2yellow pepper sliced into rings
  15. 150 gmozzarella cheese sliced
  16. 75 gpepperoni sausage thinly sliced
  17. 8black olives stoned
  18. 3Sun dried tomatoes chopped
  19. halfteaspoon dried oregano

  1. 1

    First make the sauce, heat the oil in a saucepan and add the onions and garlic. Fry gently for about 6 to 7 minutes until softened

  2. 2

    Add the tomatoes and stir in the tomato purée, then bring to the boil and boil rapidly for about 5 minutes until reduced slightly stirring constantly. Remove the pan from the heat and leave to cool

  3. 3

    For the pizza base, lightly grease a 12 inch round pizza tray. Sieve the flour and salt into a bowl sprinkle over the easy blend yeast and make a well in the centre. Pour in 175 mL warm water and the olive oil, then mix to a soft dough

  4. 4

    Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead for 8 to 10 minutes, until smooth.

  5. 5

    Roll out to a 10 inch round, making the edges slightly thicker than the centre. Lift the dough onto the pizza tray

  6. 6

    Spread the tomato sauce over the dough then top with the peppers, mozzarella, pepperoni, black olives and tomatoes. Sprinkle over the you reckon know and drizzle with olive oil

  7. 7

    Cover loosely and leave in a warm place for about 30 minutes until slightly risen

  8. 8

    Preheat the oven to 220°C

  9. 9

    Bake for 25 to 30 minutes and serve hot straight from the tray
