Weightoss is not just counting calories. The kind of food that we consume matters a lot. We know that certain foods aid in weight loss while certain foods are fattening. But some foods when paired together with other foods make a killer combination that zaps fat! One such combination is ' Potatoes and Peppers'. Just because carbs are characterised as unhealthy, potatoes are hated for weight loss. They are actually a great hunger curbing food that aid your weight loss goal. The potassium in potatoes help to get rid of bloating( water retention). But they need to be paired and prepared cautiously ie. without fat.( butter or oil). Pepper is a great combination for potatoes. Pepper contains the compound, piperine, that gives it it's strong taste. Also piperine interferes with the formation of new fat cells. This helps slim your waistline, and zaps, body fat! Sounds like magic! So often pair potatoes and pepper together as stuffing, as a subji, soup etc.

Dry roast the seeds with a pinch of salt in a Kadahi/wok. Keep aside.

Heat 1 tsp olive oil in a pan. Add chopped garlic and roast it till slightly brown. Add mashed potatoes and cook with garlic for 5 minutes on low heat.

Add salt, garam masala and mix well. Turn off the heat and add tomatoes, rice,olives and herbs. Let it cool.

Stuff the slit peppers with the above mixture. Brush 1 tsp olive oil in a pan. Gently place the peppers with stuffed side up, in the pan. Cook covered for 5 minutes or till slightly tender on medium heat.

Remove the cover. Sprinkle the roasted seeds and red chilli powder on top and cook without lid till crisp from under. Serve hot.
